For Dance Umbrella Festival 2021, we have launched a brand-new Digital Pass which will give you exclusive access to the entire digital programme. The pass is Pay What You Can (minimum £5) and will give you access to ALL digital content within this year’s festival. Content will be released throughout the festival, and once live, all content will be available on demand until Sunday 24 October.

Choreographer’s Cut

Step inside the mind of a choreographer as Nora Chipaumire, Claire Cunningham and Eddie Ladd give an in-depth commentary on a recent work and discuss their creative process with Dance Umbrella’s Artistic Director and Chief Executive Freddie Opoku-Addaie.

 

Give Them Their Flowers | artists in conversation with Jade Hackett

Join performer, actress and choreographer Jade Hackett as she shines a spotlight on five artists who have and continue to make significant contributions to the dance world today: Ash Mukherjee, Kev ‘Renegade’ Gopie, Liza Vallance, Phillip Chbeeb and Shelley Maxwell.

London Battle | conceived and created by Jade Hackett

Bringing together some of the most exciting talent from London’s hip-hop dance scene, London Battle is a celebration of the capital’s globally renowned dance and music culture. Witness dancers go head-to-head with a diverse range of styles to create a thrilling digital dance performance.

 

SAY: AF (And Friends)
Available from Monday 18 October, 5pm BST

SAY: AF (And Friends) is a dance film collaboration produced by Dance Umbrella between dance artists Sarah Golding and Yukiko Masui and an exciting range of music artist collaborators. Merging dance influences, SAY create their own unique dance style.

 

Panel Discussion | curated and hosted by Valerie Ebuwa
Live discussion via Zoom on Wednesday 20 October, 11.30am BST

Join DU for an online panel discussion hosted and curated by freelance dance artist, activist, writer and model Valerie Ebuwa.

The Digital Pass gives you access to ALL digital events in our Festival 2021 programme. So with just one pass, you’ll be able to access the whole range of online performances, conversations, articles and films.

As we continue to expand our programme of online events, we are committed to making dance accessible to all whilst valuing dance artists creating work in this medium. Our digital pass allows audiences access to all online performances, discussions, articles and films within this year’s festival. Please pay what you can from the suggested amounts below.

Please note the digital pass includes online events only, all in-person performances are sold via venue websites.

How to access Digital Events +

  1. Once you have purchased a digital pass, to access your digital content – login to your account on the Dance Umbrella website here or via the person icon on the top right of the homepage using your username and password.
  2. Once logged in, visit the Festival & More page located at the top of the website to view all events in the festival.
  3. You will have access to ALL digital events in the festival regardless of whether you have added these to your basket or not, so feel free to explore and enjoy as much of the festival as you like! All content will be available on demand until Sunday 24 October 2021.

FAQs +

I cannot find / have not received confirmation of my Digital Pass purchase:
This is sent to you by email following your purchase. Please check your junk folder and if you can’t locate this, email [email protected] for further assistance.

My promo code doesn’t work:
To activate your code, select the minimum Digital Pass price (£5) and click ‘Buy Digital Pass’. At the top of the Checkout page, you will be asked if you have a promo code. When you enter your code, you will receive your discount. Please ensure there are no typos when entering the code.

I can’t remember my Dance Umbrella password:
Select the ‘Lost password’ option when prompted on the login page to reset your password via email. Please check your junk folder in case the reset link has gone there.

I cannot see anything when trying to view content:
You must be logged into your DU account to view our digital pass content. If you are on the page for the event you are planning to watch after logging into your DU account and the content isn’t available to play at the time it is due to go live, try refreshing your browser after a few minutes. Please note that the digital content will be released at different times throughout the festival period, so do ensure you are viewing the content at the correct date and time.

I cannot hear anything when trying to view content:
Ensure the volume in both the video player and your device is turned up.

The video keeps stopping and starting:
Please check your internet connection.

I haven’t received my Zoom link for the Panel Discussion:
The Zoom link will be sent out a few hours before the event start time (Wednesday 20 October, 11.30am BST). If you have not received anything one hour before the event starts and there is nothing in your junk folder, please email [email protected].
