Dance Umbrella joins the Greater London Authority for a series of roundtable discussions, chaired by Dance Umbrella’s Artistic Director & CEO Emma Gladstone, on the future of dance in London post lockdown.
The capital is a world leader in dance and this artform will form an important part of London’s recovery but there are significant challenges ahead.
Exit from lockdown including the end of government support schemes and social distancing measures present particular challenges for the dance sector.
Many are already considering different scenarios, whilst others are still working through the immediate situation. This roundtable is about bringing together thinking and plans from some of London’s dance organisations and to share learning. The Greater London Authority would like to know how they can help.
The two roundtables intend to help shape what the dance sector needs to recover and share of some approaches of how to face this challenge. These conversations will be honest and forward moving in a positive virtual environment.
