Dance Umbrella’s annual festival is a major event in the arts calendar, London’s only festival of contemporary dance and one of the most important dance festivals internationally. The festival provides a focus within the dance world for the public and profession alike, introducing new work by both unknown and established artists from home and abroad, enriching
and revitalizing dance life in London and offering a wide variety of different performances in a range of spaces. We not only present the UK’s leading international contemporary dance festival, we provide opportunities for people to work with world-class choreographers and companies.

Of course, maintaining this level of activity is expensive which is why we need your help. As a registered charity, Dance Umbrella receives just half of its income from public funding. Additional income is earned through festival shows and activities (15%). This leaves a balance of 35% or £350,000 to be raised annually from private supporters who share our excitement for dance.
