Alongside other events in the Focus on Alston festival strand, Dance Umbrella presents Richard Alston Dance Company at its home theatre with a programme of early works and new creations showing off his company’s versatility.
This quadruple bill includes a new piece from Alston for the full company set to Mozart’s Piano Sonata No.15 played live and Early Days, a collage of extracts from early Alston pieces including Wildlife (1983), Rainbow Ripples (1980), Still Moving Still (1969) and Something To Do (1969). The programme is completed by a unique revival of Robert Cohan’s sextet, In Memory, made for London Contemporary Dance Theatre in 1989, and a new work by Martin Lawrance.
You can also catch In Conversation, a fascinating online discussion between Richard Alston and Ben Duke about selected festival events.
