PASCALE HOUBIN & DOMINIQUE BOIVIN (FRANCE)
Bonté Divine (UK Premiere)

The Place: Robin Howard Dance Theatre
Tue 11 & Wed 12 October

Bonté Divine (Divine Goodness) is a humorous and imaginative interpretation of the legend of Abélard and Héloïse; a passionate medieval love story about a clandestine affair between a teacher and his pupil.

Poetically modernised by Pascale Houbin and Dominique Boivin, this piece gracefully revisits the Middle Ages in a tragic journey of enduring love. Using projections to represent elements of the story and a sound score that travels between Bach and Tom Waits and from Britten to the sound of a Ferrari, Bonté Divine employs imaginative invention to great effect.

‘(Bonté Divine) is a true moment of grace, humour, delicacy, tenderness…’ Libération
