A Brief Encounter with...RASHPAL SINGH BANSAL (UK)
Dissonant and Parallels
Lilian Baylis Theatre, Sadler’s Wells
Fri 21 & Sat 22 October
Performed prior to Mark Morris Dance Group
Dissonant (originally commissioned by ROH2) is a dark exploration into the psyche of a person in emotional turmoil. Performed by two men and two women, Parallels (2005 Robin Howard Foundation Commission) is inspired by the Chinese philosophy that existence is based on the balance between opposite extremes: man & woman, black & white, heaven & hell, light & dark, yin & yang.
Brief Encounters is a Dance Umbrella initiative which provides a platform for both talented new choreographers and short works by established artists. These works are performed prior to main stage shows.
