A Brief Encounter With...Two’s A Company (UK)
Circular Disorientation / ONE
Sat 4 October, 6.45pm & Sun 5 October, 2pm
(performed prior to Scottish Ballet)
Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall
Two’s A Company is a dynamic programme of duets by a range of choreographers, curated by Hakeem Onibudo of Impact Dance and developed in partnership with East London Dance.
For this Brief Encounter we have selected two highly contrasting duets: Circular Disorientation by Impact Dance and ONE by C-12 Dance Theatre.
Impact Dance creates work that fuses street and contemporary movement with physical theatre. Turntabilism is the art of manipulating sounds and creating music - add two dancers into the mix and you get a Circular Disorientation.
C-12 Dance Theatre creates diverse and original material through a fusion of dance and theatre. ONE is a physical dance theatre piece that explores the struggles we can have with our inner demons.
Circular Disorientation and ONE are part of Dance Umbrella’s Brief Encounter series, in which short works by talented new choreographers or established artists are performed prior to main stage shows.
