Originally created in 1992, La Chambre Blanche is one of choreographer Ginette Laurin's most powerful works.
The piece explores the behaviours of a group of men and women when they are placed within a stark white room. Fast and physical in parts, quiet and contemplative in others, Laurin plays on the ambiguity of the setting to deliver a fascinating series of fractured narratives examining the different ways people react to the vulnerability and intimacy of imposed confinement.
‘Laurin takes not only her dancers on a roller coaster of emotions and nervous ticks, but quickly draws the audience
in as well…they loved it.’ FRANKFURTER ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG
