Highlights: Dance Umbrella 2004 featured: 2 world premieres and 9 UK premiers; Merce Cunningham Dance Company at the Barbican and its first UK tour; Mark Morris Dance Group with The Hard Nut at Sadler's Wells; Sell out performances from Yolande Snaith Theatredance (UK), Mal Pelo (Spain), Phillippe Decoulle (France), Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui of Les Ballets C de la B (Belgium/Morocco), David Gordon & Valda Setterfield (USA) and Carol Brown (UK). Dance Umbrella 2003: 28 September - 8 November

Highlights: The 25th anniversary festival, opened with a Birthday Gala at Sadler's Wells, closed with the Merce Cunningham Danvce Company in Anniversary Events at Tate Modern and included: Michael Clark Company; Ballett Farnkfurt; Teshigwara; Joseph Nadj; Rosas; Stand Up for Dance - the 3rd Dance Umbrella Proms at Sadler's Wells supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation; Inbal Pinto Dance Company tour; Vincent Mantsoe tour; Dance Umbrella's artistic director, Val Bourne, recieves the Critics Circle Dance Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance. Highlights: Dance Umbrella's presenation of Mark Morris Dance Group's production V wins Time Out Live Award for Outstanding Production; Dance Umbrella's presentation of Mark Morris Dance Group wins Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dance; Stand Up for Dance - 2nd Dance Umbrella Proms at Sadler's Wells supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation. Dance Umbrella 2001: 3 October - 10 November

Highlights: 23 years after the first Dance Umbrella, audience members continue to increase, reaching 35,000 at Dance Umbrella '01; Stand Up for Dance, 1st Dance Umbrella 'Proms' at sadler's Wells; Mark Morris Dance Group and Michael Clark Company; Co-presentation of Ballett Frankfurt at Sadler's Wells; 'Artifact and Eidos: Telos'; 2nd Virtual Incarnations; Over 25,000 see the Mark Morris Dance Group tour (sponsored by American Airlines and supported by ACE's National Touring Programming) making it the best attended tour in the company's history; 4th Woking Dance Umbrella festival. Highlights: Dance Umbrella's co-presentaion with Sadler's Wells of Ballett Frankfurt's Enemy in the Figure at Sadler's wells wins Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production, and the company wins Olivier Award for Oustanding Achievment in Dance for their season at Sadler's Wells; 3rd Woking Dance Umbrella Festival; Mark Morris Dance Group tour.
